Windows 11 Features, Benefits & Limits So Far

Hi, after so long back with a post with all new windows 11 upgrade Home/ Pro Version. In the meanwhile I was seriously missing blogging and was unable to reach out due to being busy in regular work.

The new windows 11 is seriously a next generation windows after so long. The graphics and UI is extremely cool and powerful with modern devices & hardware it makes a wiser step to upgrade to windows 11.

The next generation upgrade is somewhere related to the migration of hardware when XP turned the table with 64 BIT version of windows and software for better performance and usage, windows 11 took a big step of no more 32 BIT Windows OS.

Top reasons to choose Windows 11:

  • Latest & most appropriate UI for touch enabled devices.
  • More reliable and security enhanced operating system till date.
  • Finally, Internet Explorer (IE) put to rest in peace, but you can still enable IE MODE in Edge for some limited websites in compatibility which sometime even won’t do the needful as far as tested.
  • MS Paint is removed but is still available in add-on and there are many basic tools which are really useful but removed can be again added (FREE) via Microsoft Store.
  • It was said that Microsoft Windows 11 would support APK or android apps but seems like this is not yet added also, some sources says that it would be added sooner around or after may 2022 and moreover it could be a chance of merging with amazon app store for the same and thus this means that direct APK would might not work directly so Android Developers still need virtual devices to test & build apps.
  • 2 Kind of right click options seems like a glitch but is really cool and nice when you get addicted to use it. (Mouse right click has dual option and not keyboard right click button which is same as old one).
  • Widgets and Chat options are added in windows 11 for more shortcut and on desktop screen features.
  • New default windows themes are awesome and finally LUDO colors are removed complete and even the window without the door or wall 🙂
  • Software availability is more in Microsoft Store as compared to Windows 10 and few software are available only for Windows 11 in store.
  • Backup & Restore from Windows 7 is still carried to windows 11 (pro users feature for images and offline restore backups)
  • Microsoft Defender got some new skills and more permissions and security risk updates are there, the enhanced ransom protection is also seen.

Some reasons you may not like to upgrade to Windows 11

  • Only 64 BIT OS and suggested min 4GB RAM with Intel 9th Gen or above Hardware and few AMD Models.
  • Worst thing I found is that we cannot use 32 BIT even using Virtual Machines (Pro users will feel the pain)
  • Little more resources consuming but works faster than earlier versions but nothing new it happens with all new versions till we are habitual to it.
  • No option to disable online results from start menu search options unlike Windows 10 you cannot disable online searches.
  • File explorer header is seriously had the all new version ever and is changes to icon based buttons for default and common features, something like smartphone file manager apps has with them.
  • Task Bar is totally renewed with new icons, transition effects, hover features and more…
  • Settings UI is changes and seems more faster and better to search with options unlike GRID description rows are there in settings.
  • Control Panel is still there with more reduced options as compared to previous windows but still happy to see it.
  • Apps installed from store won’t show under *Uninstall A Program (Control Panel)* and thus those can be removed from Settings > Apps > Apps & Features.
  • 3D Object is removed and if required you can add again via Store like Paint, Paint 3D etc.
  • Go back to Windows 10 for users who upgraded from windows 10 gets only 10-14 days to go back earlier it was seen for a 30 days switch back option.

Update after 60 days experience

I think windows 11 needs time to be tested and fixed with bugs for basic performance too and thus I have removed it for now, as after some use now it was really very frequently showing the lack of performance, high resources usage and file explorer crashes or hanging which disturbed basic day to day working too, good enough of media, videos, browsing etc. but for pro users it has time to switch to windows 11 which needs to grow a little bit as of now and become stable.
