WordPress by default organizes its download and upload to some specific folders, below you can see more about them.
Let’s Start With:
How to reach Default Plugins directory follow steps:
- Go to root directory of the site (or the directory/ folder in case of using a sub-domain or sub-directory) through your site’s control panel or ftp account whatever you are using as your convenience.
- Go to wp-content, and then select Plugins, and finally, go to the Plugins folder to make whatever changes required.
How to reach Default Themes directory follow steps:
- Go to root directory of the site (or the directory/ folder in case of using a sub-domain or sub-directory) through your site’s control panel or ftp account whatever you are using as your convenience.
- Go to wp-content, and then select Themes, and finally, go to the Themes folder to make whatever changes required.
How to reach Default Uploads/Media directory follow steps:
- Go to root directory of the site (or the directory/ folder in case of using a sub-domain or sub-directory) through your site’s control panel or ftp account whatever you are using as your convenience.
- Go to wp-content, and then select Uploads.
here you have 2 cases:
Case 1: if you are using media options “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” then,
the media uploads can be founded in to sub folders created by WordPress named as “Year Number(2013)” and their sub-folder as “2 digit Month Number (01, 02, 03 & so on)”
Case 2: if you are not using media options “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” then,
the media uploads can be founded in to Uploads Folder Itself.
Mostly, these three folders are adjusted and updated by WordPress defaults, any more updates and changes will be updated here as known to us. sooner or later.
